Shaping Stillness:
Juliette Mangenot’s Process Unfolded

Over the course of five days, sculptor Juliette Mangenot invited us into her studio to document a pivotal stretch in the life of a single work. This collaboration offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at her evolving process—where form is shaped not only by hand, but by thought, memory, and emotion. Through daily journals and video, we trace the quiet intensity and layered progression of a sculpture coming into being. Each moment captured reveals the subtleties of her practice: the hesitation before a gesture, the dialogue between material and instinct, the silent decisions that guide the work forward. Rather than presenting a final product, this series is about presence—an invitation to witness the act of making as it unfolds in real time. It is both a study in motion and stillness, capturing the emotional and physical demands of sculptural creation.
